Looking for something to do during the next week? Well there are a ton of killer shows coming up so check out our list, and then check out a few shows!
Emmure – May 18
Emmure is on tour in support of their recently released seventh album, Slave to the Game. While commonly referred to as “deathcore,” Emmure has been defined, and shows influences from, metalcore and nu metal, and often times incorporate clean vocals in to their songs as well. Along with support act Alesana, Emmure will be taking their talents to the Fillmore. Doors are at 6:00pm. Tickets are $22.
Bilal – May 19
Neo-soul Singer Bilal, known for such hits as “Soul Sista” and “Fast Lane” will perform at The Howard Theatre at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $25. Doors open at 6 p.m.
Lady Antebellum – May 20
Chances are you’ve heard Lady Antebellum’s smash single “Need You Know” whether you’ve wanted to or not. The Grammy-winning group has been taking over the charts recently with songs off of their last album, 2011’s Own The Night. They’ll be at the Merriweather Post Pavillion as part of their Own The Night 2012 World Tour, with special guests Darius Rucker (of Hootie & The Blowfish fame), and Thompson Square. Gates are at 5:30pm. Tickets are $40-$75.
The Polyphonic Spree – May 21
It’s not every day that a choral symphonic pop rock band comes around, but that’s exactly what The Polyphonic Spree is. Relying on a variety of vocal and instrumental color, the band combines a multitude of influences to create sunny pop tunes, donned in their signature white choir robes. They’ll be playing at the Sixth & I Historic Synagogue on Monday May 21. Doors are at 7:00pm. Tickets are $31.50
Collective Soul – May 23
From their days in the early ‘90s as part of the alt-rock and grunge scene, Collective Soul have always found their way onto the mainstream charts, beginning with their first hit single, “Shine.” Now beginning their third decade together, and with over 10 million albums sold worldwide, the band are still going strong. They’ll be playing the Fillmore on Wednesday May 23. Show starts at 8:00pm. Tickets are $25.
