4 to 4 1/2–David Rocked My World–Stars! I really enjoyed this novella. In fact, it didn't read like a novella but read more like a full length novel. It was full of characterization, creative dialogue, and sensual romance. It also featured a sexy, tattooed, and very determined hero that stole my heart and made me swoon. It's refreshing read a rock star romance where the hero is easy to fall in love with. And, boy, did I fall in love with David. He's charming, shy, loyal, and genuine. It's refreshing read a rock star romance where the hero is easy to fall in love with. And, boy, did I fall in love with David. He's charming, shy, loyal, and genuine. He's pure class and definitely lived up to his "Gentlemen of Rock" title. After getting to know Thea's character in the first book, I was a little worried that she might be too strong willed for me. I shouldn't have worried; Nalini Singh knows how to write kick-butt heroines that are easy to love. Thea's definitely a tough-as-nails business women who can hold her own, but she also possesses a vulnerable side that was very endearing. I loved her. What I loved most about this book were the MEMOS sent between David and Thea. Oh my goodness, they were brilliantly written and so much fun to read. I absolutely loved David's sense of humor. Here's a fun quote from one of his memos to Thea. "I'm also in good shape. I realize I'm not as pretty as Noah, or as built as Abe, or have a dimple like Fox, but I have been told I have good teeth. Therefore, I'm not physically deficient." For those who struggled with Rock Addiction and are on the fence about continuing with this series, I encourage you to give this book a shot. Unlike Rock Addiction, which felt like a new adult erotic romance, Rock Courtship reads like a contemporary romance with the perfect blend of plot, humor, steam, and heartwarming romance. It made for a quick and enjoyable afternoon read. I highly recommend it. ARC provide by author in exchange for an honest review.

4 gentleman stars!! My feelings for this book can be summed up in one single GIF. I didn't like the first book that much. I barely finished it. We know from Rock Addiction that David has a thing for Thea for quite some time now but Thea keeps shooting him down because David is a client, and Thea has a rule about not dating or getting involved with clients. But David is tenacious and after giving Thea time to heal from a broken engagement, he finally made his moved. And what a move it was!! Loved, loved the memos they exchanged throughout the book. It was fun, flirty and very, very hot. David had me smiling and swooning with his words. And Thea was another surprise. I was prepared to dislike her because she seems like a harsh ball-buster but she was perfect for David. Her heart has been broken and her confidence in herself as a woman who can hold on to a man is at an all-time low. Another thing I loved about this are the anecdotes about how the band got started, their war stories, so to speak. It was enlightening and it was great to see their obvious affection for each other. I'm still iffy about the name Schoolboy Choir, but I have to admit, it's starting to grow on me. Plus, I think the length is perfect. It wasn't too long or too short. It was perfectly paced. There is a bit of drama towards the end but it wasn't unnecessary drama. It worked because it bought David and Thea's story together. This was sweet. David knew exactly what he wanted and with a little guidance from Thea's sister Molly, he was able to eventually get Thea to take a chance on him. His memorandums and rebuttals to hers were scorching hot lol Though It took me a bit to warm up to Thea, I liked her at the end and felt she handled the different issues that came up pretty well. It took her a while to accept David due to having been burned before. David was utterly devoted to her and all the more awesome for it. I fou This was sweet. 4 Stars After reading Rock Addiction I was pretty nervous about whether or not I should continue with the series. I did like this one a lot better. For one, there was a lot of story and dialogue between Thea and David. This story picks up where Rock Addiction leaves off. David has had a crush on his publicist, Thea, for years. For most David’s rock star status would be an incentive to date him, but Thea want’s no part of the fame, media attention, and groupies. David decides to pursue Thea the old fashion way - emailing memos. Yes, in the day of texting, sexting, FaceTime, and Skype David is sending her memos. Don’t worry these memos are pretty freaking hot, David has a way with words and he doesn’t disappoint when they finally have their time together. If you like a hot rocker with a dirty mouth - here is your book. I am excited at the direction this series is going and think it will keep getting better and better. FOUR TO FOUR AND A HALF STARS! I looooved this novella. It had pretty much all my favourite elements of win in it: interracial couple, family-oriented mcs, a dirty talker, and some type of quirk that allowed for some hella sexy times. Rock Courtship is how gentleman rockstar David Rivera gets his groove back. After being turned down by the band's publicist Thea Arsana, David is absolutely gutted. He knows that his feelings for her runs deep and has no idea how he could get her to give him a chance. But some timely advice from Molly gives him the little boost he needs to get past Thea's defenses and have her break that golden rule she has: never get involved with clients. The highlight of this story for me was the mcs relationships with family. I'm such a huge sucker for these kinds of books, especially when it displays hardships that disadvantaged families have to go through to get somewhere in life. That's something that will always resonate deeply in me as it reflects my life growing up, struggling to get somewhere with my parents working long hours to give us the education that they wanted us to have, but also to be able to support us and their families back from their home countries. Gets me in the feels all the time. So, why not five stars? I just couldn't help but want more! I know I keep harping about this but the length really did their story an injustice. Thea and David's story was just so rich. There was so much that could have been explored and the fact that it wasn't took away from my overall connection with both mcs. I wanted to experience their backstory rather than being just told it, I wanted to experience more of their families together, I wanted some more sexy playfulness from the both of them. Bottom line, I just wanted more. Overall, a great read. This series just keeps getting better and better. Rock Courtship is part of a series and should be read in order for maximum enjoyment: You can read my review for Rock Addiction here.

(ARC provided by author) What do you get when you put together the "Gentleman of Rock" and the "Take No Prisoners" Publicist? Sounds like a match made in heaven and it is. The problem is that Thea does not date her clients...and David is definitely a client. I knew I would enjoy this book just based on the memos we heard about in Rock Addiction. I knew I would enjoy this book just based on the memos we heard about in Rock Addiction. What I wasn't prepared for was the slow burn and slow build of two people falling in love. I LOVED those memos especially that last one! ♥ Not only were they hot but very romantic! Thea is Schoolboy Choir's publicist and that means she has to be pretty tough but that's not all she is. And she's just gotten out of a horrible relationship that has left her a little trust shy. I loved seeing the real her...something that David's seen all along! David is super sweet and even though he's been labeled a certain way that doesn't necessarily define him. Example: the bar fight...gotta love that. The thing is that he knows what he wants and he goes after it...with a little push from Molly that is. NS doesn't have to worry about writing love scenes...she has those down pat. I especially loved the parts where these two loved looking into each other eyes! ~sigh~ I was a little worried this novella was going to be too sweet. I needed a little "something something" to mix things up and luckily we got that. Maybe a little predictable and a little over the top but it was just the right thing to give these two the push they needed. Naturally, we get scenes with the other band members although I did feel like I missed Fox! However, Abe and Noah definitely filled the void. Which one will be next? Does it even matter? They both have issues and need just the right woman to fix them. I cannot wait! Favorite quotes ♥ "I want you, no one else. I’m so gone on you I haven’t slept with anyone since I asked you out. It’s not hard to say no when the woman isn’t you." ♥ "You know I like the Gentleman of Rock's dirty side." ♥ "Please don't kick my heart, David." ♥ “Why are you and Molly talking in secret female-speak?” Stomach clenched from holding in her laughter, she raised an eyebrow at him. “Secret female-speak?” “Incomprehensible to males, though done in plain sight.”

4 Stars I really enjoyed this one. It's always refreshing to read about a rock star that isn't a typical cookie cutter man whore (not that I don't love those on occasion too). Still, it's nice to have man that doesn't feel the need to stick his plug in every outlet. As usual, Singh's writing is flawless. On a side note, I really like her heroines. They are (usually) very level-headed women with a sense of calm self-awareness that I really enjoy. It's nice to have a heroine that is a reasonable, mature, adult - and acts like it - in a sea of of sometimes vapid, insecure, whiny females. What I think I loved most about this story though is the more in depth look at the family that is School Boy Choir. In this novella, we get more back story about the band, their formation, and the familial bonds shared between them all. I always love stories with an overarching sense of brotherhood, and that is definitely an element in this series. The next one can't get here soon enough.

I loved this book! The "Gentleman of Rock" won me over immediately. Not only is he a drummer, whom I always tend to find sexiest of the band members, but he's also a nice guy hiding a sexual maestro on the inside. "Vulnerable" in a heroine often translates to weak or whiny, but Thea remained true to herself throughout her courtship with her man. The memos...PERFECTION!!! It was obvious that both Thea and David could say what they really wanted to in letters rather than face to face. I was so happy that David took that first leap of faith and put himself out there like he did. When Thea finally memos back... Hot, Hot, HOT! I knew Singh could give us some steam!!! I have no idea whose puppies those are! So, even though she's very attracted to our rock star, David, she won't give him a chance. She knows that rock stars are players and she can't go through that again even though she's pretty sure that David's not like that. That's right, prove your worthiness to me. I'm almost impressed. David won't give up and Thea's sister tells him that he should write Thea a memo outlining why she should go out with him. His memo is pretty hot-stuff. Well, we all know that memos are a gateway drug to sexting, so their fingers get a pretty good work-out before they actually get together in the flesh. They do say that memos are the way to a woman's heart... This book was pretty short as it was a half-book, but really cute and romantic. If you didn't read the first book, though, you need to because it plays off of it.

Nalini gives us exactly what she advertises and more, a sweet, sexy and swoon worthy courtship rocker style. There were very diverse opinions regarding Rock Addiction, the first book in the Rock Kiss series. Mainly because it’s a complete departure from Nalini’s well established paranormal romance genre. But her character development is excellent in whatever trope she writes in, and upon meeting Thea and David in the first installment I knew I would want to know more and wasn’t disappointed. But her character development is excellent in whatever trope she writes in, and upon meeting Thea and David in the first installment I knew I would want to know more and wasn’t disappointed. I loved Schoolboy Choir’s drummer because he wasn’t just “talented and bone-melting sexy.” There was so much more of him to love. He was sweet and funny, a loyal, caring son and brother. And he was smart enough to know how to get to the heart of Thea. “The Dammn man had figured out her weak point and he’d aimed his missile right at it: her mind.” Thea is a strong and independent woman. But she’s also warm and caring and rarely vulnerable. They are perfect together. We know they’ve know each other for years. They’ve developed a caring, supportive friendship along with a smooth working relationship. But Thea doesn’t know that David has loved her from afar since they met. And now that he feels the time is right he’s determined to get the woman of his dreams no matter that he’ll need to brush up on his maddening memo writing skills combining tenderly sweet and decadently sexy. “Second… I have been told I have good teeth. Therefore, I’m not physically deficient... Third, I think you’re hot… I’m particularly turned on by your mind and your legs… you should see the fantasies I have of seducing your mind with my words while I stroke my hands over your legs…” Even though this is a novella, the pace and development was excellent. Because while I enjoyed the steamy parts, I also liked that these two characters developed a deep, easy and happy connection in which the give and take was even and gave way to good communication and openness to help get through the pressures of their professions. “Then I saw you… No one else would do. Only you.” Nalini did a great wonderful job with this story and even though I have no clue who’s next I’m eager to know more about the rest of the School Choir bad boys. * I was given an ARC of this book by the author for an honest review. This one actually felt more like a novel than a novella – it’s definitely got the feel of a full-length love story as go on a journey with David and Thea. Thea is the band’s publicity manager and David the drummer – he’s known as the gentleman of rock for his fairly conservative dress sense and his lack of sensational tabloid heroines. He’s had the hots for Thea for a very long time but she refuses to mx business with pleasure and is wary of getting involved with a rock star after a seriously bad break up from her ex which left her hurt and slow to trust. Thea is just a super-organised alpha female type and Molly, her half sister, can see how much David adores her and advises him to write her a memo outlining all the reasons why they would be good together to appeal to Thea’s very controlled business mind. And so we begin a delightful courtship by memo as defences are broken down and hopes are raised. David is just about the perfect book boyfriend – he’s a tattooed, gorgeous rock God, one quarter of one of the most successful bands on the planet and underneath all that, he’s loyal, caring and shit hot in bed. What more could a girl ask for? He’s got his sights set firmly on just one woman and the endless stream of dispensable groupies are easy for him to say no to. He’s from a loving family from a rough neighbourhood and he has never forgotten his humble beginnings and is just so genuine, charming and surprisingly shy. He is just such a sweetheart – I completely adored him. He might be the perfect gentleman in public but in the sack he’s pure, raw sex and sweet tenderness which really will make Thea feel cherished and truly desired. Thea, for all her alpha female, ball-busting persona is actually very sweet and vulnerable and slow to trust and David has got his work cut out to convince her that they should be a couple and I so enjoyed the slow build up to this relationship. It’s so romantic and so sexy – it was just what I needed for a lazy Sunday to curl up with! What Nalini Singh is doing so very well with this series is bringing us fantastic characters and hints at other relationships to really ramp up the anticipation for the rest of the series. I can’t wait to read the other books and see the other guys find their forever girls. If you like a sex and yet very romantic rock star love story, this series is very much for you. 4 gentlemanly stars Read my review at Sinfully Sexy and enter to win a $50 Giftccard.

3.5 Still Not The Nalini I Love Stars This book was considerably better than Rock Addiction but still not in the league of what Nalini Singh can write. It's like there is something missing from these books. I would say that they miss the "soul" of her Paranormal ones but then I would have to admit that Singh probably delved into this genre because of the hype and the money. And although I don't see anything wrong with writing for the money, I still expect better results from her. None of the... ... shit from the first book to be found here. Still, I never connected with the characters. Maybe this is because we don't see the love developing, we just see them after they are already there and just need a nudge to give it a go. It's a novella so I get why I may have found it lacking on that account but I've read other novellas from Nalini Singh and I've seen her do wonders in shorter stories. So I guess if it was any other author I may have given a solid 4 but it isn't and where this author is concerned I have higher expectations. The one thing I loved about the book was the fact that David was 2 inshes shorter than Thea. When I first read it I was like "What? Nah, that can't be true. Surely I read it wrong because this is a Romance novel and all the heroes are 6+, muscle-bound beasts." I loved it that for once we avoided that cliche. Not that I don't like my tall. I like them as much as the next girl but what are shorter men to do when the standard is so high? So on this I applaud you Miss Singh.

3.5 ★ This story is now about Schoolboy Choir's drummer, David, and Molly's half-sister, Thea. It was nice to see at least that this was not insta-love. No extreme highs or lows, just a steady-going build up. A bit of a drama at the end but nothing angst-y. Seriously, I've said it before in my review of Rock Addiction, and I'll say it again. I swear, Ms. Singh must've gathered every girl's imaginable rock star fantasy out there and put them all in this series' H's. And as cheesy as that road can get, strangely enough, it worked for me, so I guess Ms. Singh did her job. Also, as much as this trope has been written to death, with the soap opera-like dialogues added to that, I somehow liked it. How about that! I’ve always loved Nalini Singh’s fantasy, paranormal works so I figured I’d give her new romance Rock Courtship a shot, boy am I glad I did. Rock Courtship is the story of drum player, David, and publicist, Thea. David has been pining after Thea for quite some time but she was engaged. Once her engagement falls through, David takes his shot at winning Thea’s heart. It is a cute but very steamy courtship via memos. 3.5 stars Way, waaay better than the predecessor, Rock Addiction! This is Nalini Singh that I'm familiar with :D. Yeah, there are some cliches too, but not too much like RA. And I can relate to Thea (heh, we shared the same heritage :p, even I'm a Javanese rather than Balinese) and David, whom in my opinion is better than Fox :) Really love the memos! :D. I love this kind of courtship and yea, one of Nalini Singh signature in her story is the hero slowly woo the heroine which imho, romantic! XD If you have a not-too-good experience with Rock Addiction (like me, ehm), I suggest you to not miss this one. Believe me, this novella is different. You will like Thea with her strong willed and witty personality, but she also has a kind heart and can be fragile. Thea remind me so much with Adria from Tangle in Need and I can't help myself to hug her when she feel down. And David, wow, he's so cute and endearing. He really earn his "Gentleman of Rock" title, because even he can be so hot in bed and playing dirty, he also a gentleman. True to his word, act and love to Thea. Rock Kiss series might be not spectacular as Psy Changeling and Guild Hunter, but Rock Courtship make me believe again to Nalini to again deliver a beautifully written and sexy love story :D. e-ARC provided by NetGalley for honest review. Memo to self: Find a David of my own. This book focuses on David and Thea. David has been head over heels in love with Thea for a long time but Thea has strict rules about dating her clients. Thea's sister Molly suggests that David write a memo to Thea detailing the reasons why she should date him. Molly tells David that there is no way that Thea could resist responding to a memo. I hope that there will be more stories about the boys in the band. I can't wait to read more! Thank you to NetGalley and TKA distribution for a review copy of this book.

Rock Courtship (Rock Kiss #1.5) by Nalini Singh is sexy cute. David, “the drummer for the hottest rock band on the planet” is a total sweetheart, known as the Gentleman of Rock because he’s so levelheaded and doesn’t get into trouble. But he has it bad for Thea, his bands’ publicist. Thea tries to keep it professional between her and David because she’s still scarred from her cheating ex-fiancé and she doesn’t believe a rock star like David can stay faithful or remain interested in her. Thea’s sister Molly (heroine from Rock Addiction) gives David some great advice. She tells David to write a memo to Thea why she should date him. He sends the memo via Thea’s email while she is on vacation visiting her mother. The memo idea works incredibly well, and soon David has broken down Thea’s defenses. They write memos back and forth to one another during the week Thea is on vacation. David has a way with words, because in one naughty scene, Thea orgasms just by reading a sexually explicit memo from David. He weakens her resolve in a very unorthodox type of courtship. Then when she comes back, she gives in and lets David seduce her. These two steam up the sheets and more. The love scenes are pretty much what you would expect to find in a contemporary romance, unlike Rock Addiction that was very heavy on the sex and passion. There’s passion shared between Thea and David, but there is also friendship. There was some unneeded drama toward the end, but overall, I really enjoyed David and Thea. The ending is adorable. Where can I get my own David, the Gentleman of Rock? Now bring me Charlotte and T-Rex, Nalini!

Second, I met these two characters in book one, so having partially read it, I have a foundation to build from with who they are. Third, I am in love with this couple! Drummer David and publicist Thea are simply brilliant. They build a dialogue and relationship through memos and text. It’s a slow building, slow burning anticipation for the reader. Simply put…..yummy. Finally, I will tell you that the adult relationship with honest communication and a give and take in and out of the bedroom put this installment in the series head and shoulders above its predecessor. In Summation, THIS is what I expect from Nalini Singh and this is what I will come back for time and time again. www.ktbookreviews.com

Rock Courtship is the second story in Nalini Singh's Rock Kiss series and features Schoolboy Choir's drummer David and their publicist Thea. If you've read Rock Addiction then you'll be familiar with both of these characters and you'll have already seen how head over heels David is for Thea. I had high hopes for this story because I was already a big fan of David and I'm happy to say he didn't disappoint me. David is such a sweet guy, he hasn't let the band's success go to his head and is a genuinely nice person to spend time with. He's earned the reputation as the Gentleman of Rock in the press and he lives up to it in every way. David has been crazy about Thea ever since he first met her but the time was never right for him to make a move, first she was in a relationship, then she was recovering from a broken heart and now she is very clear about her rule of never mixing business with pleasure and since she's the band's publicist she wouldn't dream of dating David. But David has waited long enough, he knows she is the one for him and no other woman will do, all he has to do is convince Thea to give him a shot. Taking the advice of Thea's sister Molly David sends Thea a memo explicitly outlining his case for them starting a relationship. Thea feels obliged to respond in kind and soon they are sending each other the most wonderful flirty emails as David slowly starts to win Thea around. These two really are perfect for each other and I loved seeing them grow closer as Thea starts to let down her barriers. She has good reasons for finding it hard to trust but David has been a friend for a long time and deep down she knows he would never betray her like her ex did. The two of them have fabulous chemistry (I think David may possibly be even hotter than Fox!) but more than that they also have respect for each other and a solid, caring foundation to their relationship. I think my only complaint about Rock Courtship was that I wanted it to be longer, I could have happily devoured a full length novel about these two rather than a novella! That isn't to say the story isn't satisfying, I just loved them so much that I wanted to spend more time with them. David writes the most wonderful emails - who knew that memos could be sexy? - and I wanted to see more of them. This is definitely turning into one of my favourite NA series, super hot rock stars, strong independent heroines and fantastic hot sex - what's not to love?

4.5 Stars This novella was adorable perfection. Yes, it’s short. But it had me from the beginning and didn’t let me go until I had read the last word. Well actually from before that because I fell for these two in the first book. Just from the first glimpse I wanted them together. And then I was dying to read their story! ROCK COURTSHIP is sort of parallel time wise to ROCK ADDICTION. The attraction had always been there between David and Thea but things hadn’t gone any further. With a little of Molly’s push they got right back on track. I loved everything about David. The Gentleman of Rock. Drummer of Schoolboy Choir. Just all around good guy. He’s a family man, he’s not that into the rock star persona, is not that big of a fan of groupies. And knows that he wants to have sex with a woman that means something to him. And what of the fact he’s so confident and comfortable in his own skin that he actually likes that his woman is taller than him? How has stardom not ruin this wonderful man? I love that he’s a family man. I love that he wants a relationship. I love that he’s a one woman man! I was dying to see what all the notes were about that we glimpsed in ROCK ADDICTION and I wasn’t disappointed. Super sweet! My complaint with this, though, was that I really would’ve loved to see their relationship developed in a full length book. They are such a cute couple that I would’ve liked more to them than we got. But anyway, now I’m ready for the next book in this series! *ARC provided by author

Hoping that she'll reply, and he'll find out if she really doesn't ever want to be with him, or if she does but his timing was just wrong. I really, really liked this. David was so completely, totally, head over heels in love with Thea. He was devoted to her even before they were together. He was so patient, sweet, faithful, respectful and cherished her like she was a treasure. I wish every romance hero was like him. None of that commitment phobic crap, but a real man who acts like a gentleman. The only thing that brought this down for me, was that for a novella there was a bit too much sex. I'd have preferred to have some more sweet interactions between them.
