Seriously, this book and Binding 13 are my TOP favorite reads of the year. Actually, I’m fairly confident in saying that they are my favorite books of ALL TIME. And I don’t toss around that term lightly because I have loads of favorite books and read around 150 to 200 books a year, but the Boys of Tommen have blown every other one of my favorites clear out of the water. It’s taken me awhile to write up this review because I’ve wanted every word of it to be perfect since Keeping 13, and it’s predecessor, Binding 13, are no less than exactly that - perfect. But, it’s like no matter what I say, it’s still nowhere near good enough to describe how amazing and phenomenal this book is, how much I absolutely love it and how many emotions it still makes me feel, even a week after reading it. These are the kind of books that I want to scream about from the rooftops and throw at people to read because they are THAT GOOD. I'm not going to give any spoilers away, but the sequel to Johnny and Shannon’s story is explosive and nothing short of incredible. And the FEELS y’all… this whole book is dripping with ALL THE FEELS, and I’m STILL vibrating with them. Keeping 13 gave me the biggest smile and had me rolling with laughs, like cheeks hurting and belly cramping because I was in tears from laughter. I swooned more times that I can count, cried like a baby and there were times where my heart was hammering in my chest with fear. It was a roller coaster of emotions, one that I never wanted to stop. Chloe Walsh never ceases to amaze me with her impeccable writing and has given me yet another massive book hangover. I actually feel sorry for all the others books I've had to read afterwards, and will have to read, following this mind-blowing and epic book. But Chloe is one of those authors whose writing I always connect with and she never fails to deliver a book with unforgettable characters, emotion and tons of heart. She really delves deep with the whole cast of characters and brings their struggles to the forefront in a pure and honest way. When this lady writes a book, she doesn’t just give you a story. She creates the perfect recipe for a whole other world with characters that are 100% real and gives them so much depth that makes them spring to life from the pages… and she completely blew me away with all the characters she created with the Boys of Tommen. Never have I ever been so in love with every single person in a book before. Each character serves a purpose. They aren’t just add-ins for filler. They are there to create real life and real situations. The hero, Johnny, *swoon*...my heart is so full of love for him. He has to be my all-time favorite book boyfriend ever. He is just so sweet and pure and fierce, protective and loyal to the bone. That boy just makes me tingle all over. I think his only flaw is that he was a bulldozer, just like he bulldozed his way into Shannon's life and into her heart. He saved her from a horrible and devastating situation and brought her back to life and out of her shell. He made her feel safe and loved and wanted, which was something she had never experienced before. The way he loved her and took care of her melted my freaking heart. And then there’s Johnny’s sidekick, Gibsie. Oh. My. GOD! That kid is a barrel of laughs. I’ve never read a character more hilarious than him, EVER. I think I highlighted every single one of his quotes because every word out of his mouth had me in stitches, and there were a ton of quotes from Gibs, lol. This book needed his character, though. He created a balance with the heartbreaking moments with his humor and I absolutely adore him and can’t wait until he gets his own book. I can’t forget about Johnny’s mother, Mammy K. When she wasn’t embarrassing Johnny, she was cockblocking him, ahh that poor lad, lol… but she had a heart of gold and was the backbone in this book. I could literally talk about all of the characters from this book all day, but my review is going on 3 pages long already so I’ll wrap it up. Keeping 13 is on a whole other level of epic. Words don’t even do it justice. There is just so much in it that makes it truly spectacular and the way Chloe writes it will have you head over heels and fully obsessed with all things Boys of Tommen. There's a reason why Chloe Walsh is my all-time favorite author and it's books like these that keep her ranked in the #1 spot. If you’re looking for a book to get lost in and forget about life for a few days, then do yourself a favor and read these books. You can find my review for the 1st book here: Binding 13

I’m going to try do this review without spoilers, but it’ll be hard. I bloody loved this book and just want to talk about it all day. Keeping 13 had it all. Everything you could want in a perfect book that pulls you in at the start and spits you out at the end with a book hangover. The emotions in K13 are beyond amazing. I laughed so hard I had stitches. At times I cried so much that I couldn’t even read the words and had to pause. A few times I wanted to throw my e-reader across the room as I was I’m going to try do this review without spoilers, but it’ll be hard. At times I cried so much that I couldn’t even read the words and had to pause. A few times I wanted to throw my e-reader across the room as I was frustrated and angry at some characters. Then at times I felt protective; I just wanted to steal the characters and wrap them up in cotton wool. I’m still thinking of stealing some. *cough* Joey It’s not often a book will bring out all these emotions and many more. It takes a lot for me to cry while reading. But K13 made me. Even though the storyline made me cry and angry at times, it was amazing. It was exactly what needed to be, so that the characters got the HEA that they deserved. And what I love most about the story is that it’s real life. It’s stuff that happens in every day life, but some people refuse to acknowledge that. The struggle the mam goes through is real. The torment the kids feel is real. The pull between J&S is real. Johnny’s injury and how it affects his rugby career happens daily. I admire Chloe for writing a book containing the content it did and acing it. The characters are bloody amazing. They are relatable. How they think, what they feel, the struggles they go through; all relatable. I love Johnny and Shan’s characters. They are perfect together. They bring out the best in each other, but they also handle the not so good with care. Obviously relationships aren’t perfect but it’s how you deal with the bad moments that count, and J&S navigate it so well. The secondary characters are fantastic. They are in it a good amount that adds to the storyline without taking away the focus of J&S. I’m very intrigued with a few of them and can’t wait to read more about them and have their own story. This is probably one of my longest reviews, but lastly I want to add; I know this is a long book and some readers don’t like long books, but trust me. EVERY word is amazing. EVERY word has it’s place in this book to make it an amazing story that had me on the edge of my seat. If I could rate K13 with more than 5 stars, I would. But I have to settle with giving it 5.

So, I'll write the cumulative review for both, book 1 Binding 13 and Keeping 13. uf, first, let me start with that fact that this is not my first time reading smth from Chloe Walsh, so I somewhat had an idea of what I might come into contact with while reading this duet and still, I was struck by the power of vivid imagery and emotional spin of high altitude. Ms Walsh usually writes angsty YA with some heavy subject in the background and as I expected the same here, I was stunned by the emotinal grip on the subject of abusive situations of one dysfunctional family and the horror these children went through by the hand of the one person who was supposed to love them, protected them and cherish them. Uf, I am utterly devastated by the described domestic violence situations, the main heroine - 16 year old Shannon went through, and not only at home but in her school as well. And her small figure only intensified the outcome of abuse cause she was an easy prey. After years of abuse she's finally transfered to another school, where she knew two girls, she was friends with from her childhood, but since they were of better social background, this private school was the first option for them, but for Shannon, it turned out to be a rescue place, and a much needed reprieve from the constant threat on her life. Thinga are finally simmering down on school grounds and her new surroundings is now her recluse place from the shitty home situation and then her accidental misfortune to be hit by the rugby ball that ended with a concussion, put her on the path of a very determined, persistent, devoted 17 year old rugby talent Johnny Kavanagh, a boy with the bright future in sport on a national level, who's been dealing with the injury and its recovery. But now, their misfortunate meet didn't start well, but the boy did everything in his power as a Captain to STOP any or further gossip or torment on the new girl, Shannon like the river and that's just the beginning of the beautiful friendship based on self-growth, getting to know the person inside and out, and fighting the undeniable attraction towards the beautiful girl. BUT acknowledging the real feelings, discovering the horrible home situation Shannon is in, only makes Johnny more determined to protect her anyway he can...until the horrenduous events that would probaby leave the deepest of scars... and his future in rugby is being one more step he needs to dwell upon, making it happen and go after his dream or stay with the girl he fell for in the most purest and deepest of ways? I have to say that even though I don't venture often into the YA genre, I know Chloe Walsh will make me wanna stay in that world, cause of the angsty writing, emotional devastating shattering turmoil with given hope in the end. What I though, well expected to find on these 900 and smth pages, was, in fact maybe a more farther spectre of events, maybe more farter in the future...BUT we see, in very vivid detailed way the span on just 1 year in the lives of the main characters and I just felt like that was just a tab bit "too much" of an effort in presenting/describing such a short time span (and I'm not talking about the mere events in that 1 year span, cause there were plenty of them, maybe even too many LOL). I just expected more of them in the future... I loved the secondary characters as well, they are such a marvelous bunch, some of them hilarious to the very core (Gibsie) but mostly I loved the patience and welcoming love of Johnny's parents, as much as I hated Shannon's parents. This was a story of finding inner strength in the most devastating situation, it's a story of friendship in its purest form that slowly grows into more, it's about devotion, determination, persistence in existence. It's as much as beautiful as it is sad and shattering. And it's a looong badass book. *wink*

This may be tough to read for sensitive readers, but it is important to remember the overwhelming theme is surviving, family, friendship and young love... Book 1 really lays the background work for for the series, introducing you to the full cast of characters and laying the foundation of the story to come. This leaves off in a dramatic Chloe Walsh style cliffhanger leading directly into K13... And it picks up in that same dramatic fashion as if you had never had a break between books!!! Once again you are thrown into the turbulence of Shannon's family and following a petulant Johnny and comedic Gibsie... I still wonder where Chloe pulls her inspiration from as you have tragic Romeo and Juliet moments in the storyline and yet she manages to create balance within the story by weaving comedy in and amongst the heartbreak. The writing in this book is utterly effortless and weaves such detail that you truly feel in that moment with the characters. Each character in the story is unique and clearly defined, that you find yourself having favorite characters on top of the hero and heroine and not just wanting more more of the main characters but of the whole cast. Chloe wraps the book up well but has dropped many hints and potential plotlines to keep this as a long running series without another cliffhanger. This is truly her best work to date and probably my number 1 read of the year... You do not want to miss out on this series... It will make you laugh, and cry and everything in between... It is positively magical

I found out that there was going to be book #2 in the Boys of Tommen and I. Couldn't. Wait!!!! To say that this book was a labor of love, would be selling it short. This was an EPIC tale of young love, loving family dynamics, great friends, teamates who will forever have uour back and the sorrow of the rippling effects of bullying, domestic abuse & homicide. My heart was ripped from my chest, stomped on, thrown back into my chest to seemingly be reborn like a Phoenix rising from the flames of first love. I've never laughed SO HARD in my life while reading a book (I mean, cheecks hurting tears running and snorting out loud hysterics!) and I did all of that to the point my geriatric canines were hiding under my bed, to get away from my screams of laughter. To tell you that THIS is the book you MUST read is really doing you a diservice...you REALLY need to read both Binding 13 AND Keeping 13, to understand how awesome a writer Chole Walsh is. 💖

The story line is bloody Brilliant, you are kept on the edge of your sanity wondering what will happen next. The content is well researched and there are sequences that are really disturbing, but here’s the thing, you are reading albeit fiction a very real slice of reality in its most honest and brutal form. The reality of this book is happening, however people choose not to see it and sadly it continues. The characters are so well described you feel you actually know them. All the characters are given personalities that are unique and individual. Gibs is one of my favourites totally no filter and laugh out loud moments. I don’t give spoilers I have read ALL of Chloe’s books and have reread them several times, which from me is the highest praise as there are only a few authors that I can go back too. If you haven’t bought Binding 13 DO IT Then 1 click now and buy this book. In fact if are new to Chloe as an author go and buy her other books. Each one is a unique original story and I can promise you will become an instant fan. I know it happened to me. Can’t wait for the next in this series

I just love that girl, her strength is beyond inspiring. There's so much more I can say. But words cannot describe it. Thank you Chloe, for such a beautiful book. I love the Boys of Tommen.

This book was everything 💖 This book was so amazing! I laughed, I cried, I rejoiced along with the characters and felt those moments of suspense... I felt everything that I read and connected so deeply with the characters which is a testament to the skill with which Chloe Walsh delivers her stories! Johnny and Shannon were written so beautifully in this sequel and I rooted for them all the way through. Gibsie had me in stitches - I can't wait for his story with Claire! 4 ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Stars! Very well done! So much happened in this book and it was a long book. I got the feeling from the last book something climatic was going to happen and it did. I love all Shannon’s brother, especially the little one! Onny! That’s what baby Sean who’s 3 calls Johnny, too cute. Those poor kids, what a sad situation they had to deal with, thank goodness for the Kavanaghs. When Shannon accidentally got his with the ball by Johnny, that boy literally changed her life for the better. Love 4 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Stars! Very well done! Good luck Johnny, your Shannon will always be there for you.

Excellent! Five stars is just not enough for this sequel! I couldn’t wait for this book to come out, even had the pleasure of re-reading the 1st book shortly before the 2nd book was released so I was up to date, and it truly exceeded my expectations. Simply said, this book is excellent! The characters came to life again on each page and their friendships shined (I loved that Shannon kept using that word when talking to Johnny about his Rugby career). I want, no I need a Gibsie in my life. He was Excellent! Five stars is just not enough for this sequel! Well done!!!

No surprise, it was blood brilliant Chloe Walsh, your writing astounds me. I read this at 100 miles an hour. I devoured it, dying to know what happens next. The people I loved in book 1 I still loved, the people who I hated in book 1, I absolutely detested. It carried straight on from first book. The sad parts were devastating, the angry parts were infuriating, the sex scenes were sweet and hot, the funny parts were mad. Chloe has packed this book with everything, without it being tedious or full of waffle. Please read this it's amazing, read 1 first though. Oh, also i liked how Dex Michael's from Nikki Ashton s book Pelvic Flaws was mentioned, which was also a fab read. Can't wait for Joey's story.

Amazing! Chloe has done it again. The second book for Johnny and Shannon will have you laughing and sobbing. The pain that all of the Lynch kids suffered through will rip your heart to shreds. The love and support that Johnny gives Shannon helps her to become the strong woman that she desperately wants to become. Shannon’s undying support of Johnny’s career is beautiful to watch. I can’t wait to see more of Johnny and Shannon and the whole gang in future Boys of Tomman books.

Only one word to describe this book=WOW. I loved this book from beginning to end, it had you feeling every emotion there is from angst, sadness, humor and happiness. I could not get enough of this book or the characters. Chloe Walsh has a special way of writing that hooks you in with not only the books main characters but supporting characters aswell. The best love story I just can't express how much I love this book. Binding 13 was just the prelude to such a wonderful love story. Now I can honestly say Johnny and Shannon are my favorite couple of all time. They make me so happy with every word that Chloe Walsh writes. This book was perfect and I only wish it could have gone on and on. I do look forward to the next one in this series to see which couple is next but until then I will probably read this one again 13 or more times. AMAZING! After Binding 13 left me with a major book hangover, I held my breath for Keeping 13. Chloe Walsh did NOT disappoint. I have not felt that much emotion reading a book in a long time. This book brings tears in all forms: there were many moments that I laughed until I cried (God Bless Mammy K and Gibsie), and there were moments that the story alone made me feel so much that I cried. You will NOT be disappointed, you may just be a Hurler and Rugby fan by the end, I know I am now!!

I love j and s From the first sentence it was go go go. It slowed in parts but was more than worth the adventure. I love all of the characters and you get a glimpse at them all. It broke me, had me shaking in laughter and raging. All the feels for this book and knowing that the author did all of this while dealing with stuggles in her life just makes it that much more amazing. Another great read from Chloe Walsh

The Craic Wow, she’s done it again. I’m going to keep this short and sweet. If you’ve read the first one for sure you need to read this one. The book started off right where we left off. All the feelings came back instantly, on the first page. I’ve never had such strong emotions with a book. I was fighting right along with this characters. I wanted to scream at Shannon’s mom. I wanted to scream at Shannon. I wanted to scream at Joey. Not Johnny because the man is perfect. You know the author did The Craic Wow, she’s done it again. I’m going to keep this short and sweet. Honestly if Chloe wanted to write a little novella about Johnnys parents, I would get on that train. I love all these characters and looking forward to reading more. Great series. Great author!
