Jude Every rock band needs their bad boy, right? That's me. Hookers, drugs, DUIs— been there, done that. I'm in a Downward Spiral and proud of it (see what I did there?). When the band manager, Archer, hires Bennett to keep me from screwing up while the band is on hiatus, I may have finally met someone who won't take my attitude lying down. With the three of us cooped up to Jude Every rock band needs their bad boy, right? That's me. Hookers, drugs, DUIs— been there, done that. When the band manager, Archer, hires Bennett to keep me from screwing up while the band is on hiatus, I may have finally met someone who won't take my attitude lying down. With the three of us cooped up together for weeks on end, I have a feeling things might get interesting. Archer Downward Spiral is my baby. Not only am I the band manager, I discovered them ten years ago when they were nothing but a bunch of high school kids playing in a hole in the wall bar on the weekends. But it’s obvious I haven’t done a great job because they’re falling apart. If the lead singer isn’t trying to kill himself, it’s the bass player telling me he can’t write any new songs. And no one gets under my skin more than Jude, who seems determined to snort and drink himself into an early grave. There's only one man I can think of who might be able to get Jude back on the right track, Bennett Schmitt. Unfortunately, he's also the man I let get away sixteen years ago and haven't gotten over since. Bennett If there's one thing I know how to do, it's taking control of a situation. In fact, control is kind of my thing. Which is probably why I'm the best in the business when it comes to getting out of control celebrities back on track. When my ex calls and tells me he's desperate for my help, I can't turn him down. Between the infuriatingly sexy drummer with no idea what kind of trouble he's asking for, and my ex looking better than ever, there's no way this isn't about to get messy. * This is an MMM romance with D/s play and mild daddy kink (NO age play), check inside for more details on what to expect.

Another fabulous entry in the Replay series from K.M. Neuhold. It takes skill to write any believable relationship but, for me anyway, there's an even greater risk in writing about multiples and making it feel like you're watching a real-life throuple or more. In Beat of Their Own Drum K.M. nails it perfectly. It takes skill to write any believable relationship but, for me anyway, there's an even greater risk in writing about multiples and making it feel like you're watching a real-life throuple or more. In Beat of Their Own Drum K.M. nails it perfectly. I felt all the love and pent-up frustration that both Archer and Bennett had been dealing with since their split 16 years earlier, and how they were desperately trying to find their way back to reconnecting in a way which could take them forward. Jude fit into that gap perfectly, he was exactly the bridge that was missing from their earlier relationship and the one that they didn't realise was the missing piece until Archer called in Bennett to try and get Jude off the rails. This story once again happens concurrently with the other band members' stories so we see a slice of the relationship which has been alluded to in both Lincoln and Lando's books and I really love this way of doing things. It brings an added depth when you see, as a reader, the detailed part of what was only hinted at elsewhere. The BDSM in this one is light, Jude needs the discipline Bennett gives him but he also needs Asher to be his Daddy, to show him he's loved and cared for. The three of them together make up one perfect relationship. Now just Benji's romance is left and I have to say, the sneak peek we got in this one intrigued me to no end! #ARC kindly received from the author in return for an honest and unbiased review

I’ve loved this series from the start so I was thrilled to be asked to review Beat of Their Own Drum by K.M. Neuhold and I did love this book despite that I’m not a huge fan of Daddy kink, but in this case it seemed to work pretty well. This book was complex, emotional, and undeniably sexy. For years Jude, drummer for the hit band Downward Spiral, has been on his own downward spiral brought on by his low self esteem and has self medicated with drugs and prostitutes. For years Jude, drummer for the hit band Downward Spiral, has been on his own downward spiral brought on by his low self esteem and has self medicated with drugs and prostitutes. With the band on hiatus, band manager Archer decides with the other band members on vacation he hires his ex-boyfriend Bennett to help Jude get clean and healthy. What Archer doesn’t expect is his attraction to Bennett is as strong as ever and Bennett has made it clear he is ready to rekindle their relationship something Archer knows will be a dead end, what he doesn’t count on is Jude being the missing piece of their puzzle. This was a complicated story with many layers and three men in varying points in their lives. Bennett honed in on Jude’s submissive side pretty quickly and Jude realized he got a thrill when he pleased Bennett. Yet, Jude also needed a soft place to land which is where Archer came in once he got passed his issues. I enjoyed watching them figure out the ins and outs of their triad relationship especially when Bennett and Archer had a past and Jude and Archer have a business relationship. The kink was on the mild side which was fine with me and while I’m not a huge fan of Daddy kink, it worked in this instance. While Bennett was a bit too much of a hard a$$ most of the time, I appreciated that he not only made sure Jude stayed on track, he put Archer’s needs first and for someone who was always looking after others, it was high time someone took care of him. My one big problem was considering Jude had been using “blow” for as long as he had, his “recovery” time was laughable. I can overlook a lot in books, but glossing over a drug or alcohol problem is something that doesn’t work for me. We get a good look at the other band members and they make some big decisions about their future, in addition it looks like Benji’s story will be pretty entertaining as well. A good addition to what has been an excellent series; I thoroughly enjoyed Beat of Their Own Drum.

KM Neuhold has a thing for writing fantastic MMM, and this is one of her best yet. Jude, Archer, and Bennett are all so different and have their own issues, but they slot into each other's lives much better than I imagined they could. And I loved it. The dynamic between Archer and Bennett had me hurting for them.. how terrible to be so in love but so seemingly incompatible in one critical area. But Jude? Jude is the perfect bridge for them to find their way back to each other for keeps.. and to KM Neuhold has a thing for writing fantastic MMM, and this is one of her best yet. I really enjoyed getting to know the real Jude in this book, and to finally see what makes him behave the way he has for years. He broke my heart and I completely fell in love with his character in a way I wasn't expecting. Archer's idea to bring Bennett into the situation to try to help Jude is entertaining to watch play out, but ends up being the catalyst for some real change and growth on Jude's end. But Bennett alone is not enough, and I love the way Archer's relationship with Jude complements Bennett's. The three of them have a lot to work through, but while their journey is difficult, it is also sweet and sexy and a little bit kinky. The author does an incredible job of showing the balance in their triad and I was sad to see it end. I can't wait for the next in this series!

I'm always really excited when a new KM Neuhold book comes out and even more so when it's MMM, and I loved this latest story in the Replay series. I feel it helps tie the series together. Very highly recommend.

(ok, i said that from the second book also...). How Jude finds himself needing a strong hand, how Archer loves after all the years Bennett, but also has feelings for Jude. Bennett loves Archer, is attracted to Jude and Jude is confused. How the three men find their way together. It's so great written! I couldn't stop at the lat page, I direct started again to read!!

Beat of Their Own Drum (Replay 3 / KU) by Kyleen Neuhold is live and she NAILED IT! A 5 star read! I have been anxiously waiting for Jude's story and she did NOT disappoint. This MMM book is a fantastic read. It's an incredible thoughtful story and it was SO HOT, yet sweet and tender too. I absolutely LOVED Jude, Archer and Bennett!!! I also enjoyed how she was able to weave in the other story lines without rehashing too much. This book and series is a must read. I think this could be Kyleen's best book yet!!

I'm not a big fan of triangles because I don't believe you could love two persons equally. But this story was believable and left me feeling giddy and happy that such love does exist. Archer and Bennett have a past that never had a closure. I loved how Archer put his feelings aside in order to help Jude. The dynamics of their relationship was amazing in how they complement each other. I just loved how they managed to work everything out in order for their relationship to survive. Kyleen writes amazing MMM but this one was truly fantastic. I loved the previous relationship between Bennett and Archer & the love that didn't die. Jude's story about being rejected by Archer & then losing his virginity to a prostitute because of it, made me gasp & hurt for him. I love Daddy kink that doesn't involve age play and Archer is just the sweetest Daddy. He balances Bennett's dominant side so perfectly. No words can really describe just how much I enjoyed this book. It ins Kyleen writes amazing MMM but this one was truly fantastic. I have no way to express how fantastic this story is! It's a second chance romance in more ways than one. A second chance at love and second chance at life! It's a heat filled, emotional ride that you don't want to get off of! This is a must read and one of my favorite MMM books of the year!

This book was a mess and there were so many things wrong with it!! I am not confident this author knows anything about a successful MMM relationship and what makes it work, or even WHY it works, and just decided to "give it a try" because it's in!! This author made a bumbling mess of a story that COULD have been a great one!! There was NONE of that here and things really got going at around 70%; such a complicated and intricate story needs MUCH more time to develop!!! There was so much confusion here and these men were all over the place ... and frankly, I am not convinced Archer deserves either one of these men. This would have worked if two men desperately love and want to be together but know something is missing, and are willing to do whatever it takes to make it work, realizing what they BOTH need is another person to complete their puzzle!! What happens HERE is that Bennett seems to think wanting it enough for everybody is what will make it work and it seems to happen on a whim. Worse than that, it's clear Archer basically wants NOTHING to do with Bennett and is only okay with the "relationship" if Jude is in the picture; he doesn't seem on board at all, and after hearing Archer bitch at and reject Bennet for most of the book, I wasn't convinced AT ALL that they could make it work!! MMM is NOT about not wanting to be with someone but being cool with being with them if someone else is involved; we call THAT beating a dead horse with additional collateral damage!!! This author pissed me off with her bumbling attempt to make this work and in the end it was all about Archer's bitching, his attitude, destroying otherwise great characters with loads of potential, and making a comical mockery of what could have been a beautiful relationship!! There was so much immaturity here, so much angry history, so much imbalance ... BLECH!!! This author needs to stick to what she knows and let me tell ya, MMM is NOT it ... I hate to say it [not really], but she knows NOTHING about MMM, what makes it work, and how to create a beautiful story with a glorious MMM relationship at its centre!!! NO NO NO!!!! Also, if this is about a threesome, why on earth is there only one guy on the cover?!!? *Rolls eyes* - What the fuck ever!!!!

The author makes sure that they are all equals in this relationship, every man bringing something unique to it and finding love and care with the other two in equal measure. There are several very moving moments in the story, and all three men have moments of weakness and vulnerability. It was great to see them learn to trust one another and give in to their growing feelings, or acknowledging feelings that were there all along. The only thing that I would have liked to have seen developed a bit more fully is the emotional bond between Jude and Bennett. I’d have preferred them to get to know each other better before dropping the L-word, outside of their D/S connection, that is. I did really like the way the author incorporated the bdsm-aspect of Jude’s and Ben’s relationship into the story, as well as how she made Archer fit into it too. I think this is one of the best daddy kink stories I’ve read so far and I loved the way both Archer and Jude slowly discovered that part of themselves. I found it a bit unrealistic that Jude shrugs off his drug addiction so easily. I’d have expected that part of him getting his act together would have been harder. It didn’t lessen my enjoyment of the story one bit, however. The occasional flashbacks were a great way to explain certain things and really brought home what these characters have been through. We get glimpses of what’s happening with the other band members during their “vacation”, which was great. Not enough to distract us from the MC’s of this book, but still plenty to be able to fully appreciate the importance of the connection between the band members and how their rise to fame impacted their lives. For better and worse. I was struck by the significance of the book’s title and really liked the play on words. Jude is the heart, the linchpin in the relationship between the three men, and they definitely have to follow their own path in order to find happiness. I absolutely loved this story and I can’t wait to find out what happens next in this series!

Beat of Their Own Drum is the third installment of the Replay Series. First, there was Linc and Jace, then Lando and Dawson, and now we have the much-awaited story of Ben, Archer and Jude. The Replay series is about Downward Spiral, an openly gay group of rock superstars. The series runs concurrently for each member during the group’s hiatus 10 years after they make it big and have been touring and recording non-stop. Nearly all the members of the group are burnt out and broken. Beat of Their Own Drum is Jude’s story. Not only is he burnt out, but he’s strung out too. He uses drugs to numb the pain of his family not really caring about him. He also only sleeps with prostitutes after their band manager, Archer, seemingly rejects him 10 years ago, to keep emotions at bay. This story picks up at the beginning of the hiatus when Archer reaches out to his ex-fiancé Bennett, who is a master sober coach. After being apart for 16 years, Archer contracts with Bennett to get Jude on the straight and narrow. The three of them end up at Archer’s remote cabin. In the end, the three of them fall in love and become a throuple. The build-up of the romance is totally believable and this is one of the best written throuple books I’ve read. The three of them just seemed to fit perfectly - Bennett the dominant, Archer the nurturer, and Jude in need of both of them. For me, two things kept this from being a 5-star review. The storyline implied Jude had been a cocaine user and smoker for a while, but he had no withdrawal or relapse issues. It felt almost swept under the rug, which seemed unrealistic. Another thing that seemed unrealistic to me is there was no fall-out due to Jude’s career. He’s a rock superstar in a gay throuple and there’s no angst or issue with respect to his career. I mean, Archer is his band manager! I kept waiting for that in the book and it never came. Having said that, I cannot wait for Benji’s story! *** Copy provided to Bayou Book Junkie for my reading pleasure, a review wasn't a requirement. ***

First, I have to say, that Asher and Bennett's story is fascinating. The two men always worked so well together, except for in the bedroom. They both desperately loved one another, but couldn't give the other what they needed in bed. Now, 16 years later, they are reunited, and the magic is still there. But, as before, neither of them is able to submissive. As they start to work with Jude, they discover the amazing way in which both men are good for Jude. Asher can be there to coddle Jude, while Bennett can be there to discipline him. Over time they all come to see how well Jude fits with the two men, both in bed and intellectually. And, it's enchanting the way that Jude ends up being everything they never knew they needed. The first time Jude says "Daddy" is a remarkable scene, as it's so beautifully tender, and it's probably my favorite moment. Overall, this is a phenomenal menage romance involving three men who work perfectly together, gifting the others with what they really need and want. When together, they are all gifted with hope and happiness. The change in the men is wonderfully developed. We watch as the men have to face their past rejections, confusion, and their insecurities. As they grow as people, they are full of love, affection, comfort, care and provide stability to one another. Beat Of Their Own Drum is an impressive story. I love reading about men who've lost their way, as they are able to turn their lives around through the power of love. It's beautiful, captivating and powerful. I can't suggest this KM Neuhold series enough!

With the first two books we see just how much the band relies on Archer, and just how dedicated he is to the guys. Somehow along the way the guys have lost their way, with depression, drugs, booze, prostitutes, writers block, they seemed to have hit that downward spiral (pun intended). Archer decides that to help Jude and the issues he is dealing with, he will call in someone that will be able to get Jude back in shape and clean again. But calling Bennett is actually one of the last things Archer thought he would do, after all he is still in love with the man. The two parted ways years ago knowing that they may love each other, but they can not give each other what the other needs. Now the three end up going on a vacation to get Jude out of the city and some down time. Bennett starts to realize that maybe, just maybe, the problem they had years ago, Jude is the fix. Will Jude embrace being a sub, or is that out of the question? Can Archer see the three of them starting something big? So this was a really good read. This was a bit of a first for the author with the foray into BDSM and I think that for her first try this was really good! Nice steamy scenes, not too much drama but enough to keep us entertained, and I loved the bit of Daddy kink thrown in! I give this 4.5 stars and am ready for Benji's book!

4 stars! “Kinky Rockstar/ second chance MMM Romance” *I received an ARC of this book and voluntarily reviewed it* This is the 3rd book in the Replay series and I was unsure if I was going to like this one because of the kinkiness but it was really well written and the kink was on the lighter side. This book follows band member Jude through a drug and prostitute fueled meltdown where band manager, Archer, is forced to hire his ex-boyfriend and celebrity rehabilitator, Bennett, to whip Jude into shape. Mild D/s and Daddy kink are explored and, as always, love is realized. What I really liked was that the kink was really well executed. Daddy kink is often confusing for a reader who isn’t into that kink and I appreciated that it was addressed in a really understanding way in this book. What I loved was that their relationship felt organic and it didn’t feel forced. It hurt my heart that Jude went through such a hard time and has spent the last 10 years self-medicating. I hate second chance romances because it feels like so much time is wasted that could have been spent together but the author does a great job of really making you feel the pain and longing. But maybe the best thing about book 3 is that we FINALLY find out what is going to happen to the band!!! That was a MAJOR cliffhanger in the first 2 books and after you read the book you will know what is about to go down! Overall, this was a great addition to the replay series. This author really knows how to make you feel. I am looking forward to the next book!

Bennett, Archer, and Jude. The Dom, the Daddy, and the Brat! Bennett and Archer have a history, so there's a lovely second chance romance aspect to this book that I totally loved. Add Jude into the mix to bridge the gap between Bennett and Archer and man oh man! So good! I love the D/s and Daddy kink aspect of the story, and yes it is mild as the author stated. I would have liked to see a little more of that, but that's only because that's just my thing. I do love how the author goes back and fo Bennett, Archer, and Jude. The Dom, the Daddy, and the Brat! I do love how the author goes back and forth in time with Bennett, Archer, and Jude, giving us more of their backstory. It's easily distinguishable with the side A - present, side B - past. Clever! I totally love, love this series! I really would not recommend reading this as a standalone, even though K.M. Neuhold does an excellent job catching us up on what's happened or happening, as each of these stories happen simutaneously, I would recommend starting at the beginning with "Face the Music."

This is the 3rd book in the Replay series and one I’ve really been looking forward to reading, it did not disappoint!!! I really thought Jude would be the star/ main attraction of this book and would over shadow Bennett and Archer with his troubled road to destruction. None of them is the perfect guy for one of the others on their own, they need both and I love that!! Especially the way that Jude needs Bennett’s strict controlled Dominant side and Archer’s sweet caring Daddy side to feel settled and loved. I really liked that Jude’s drug problem and self destructive way of dealing with emotions didn’t just disappear when he fell in love, but instead is an problem he is finally fighting to change. I 100% recommend this series and can’t wait to read the next one!

Loved it! I really enjoyed this book a lot. This author is amazing as always. Well developed characters and story, perfect combo of steamy, sweet, and a little drama. Plus bonus of one of my favorites-MMM. While neither D/s or Daddy are typically my favorites, I very much liked them here. It all fits and meshes the characters perfectly, is well done, and isn’t overwhelming. There is plenty of focus on the unique individuals and their needs and personalities and feelings too. Also enjoyed seeing the rest of the Downward Spiral members and how things all tied together with concurrent happenings from the other books. I’ll be looking forward to seeing their next step-hopefully Benji getting an HEA too! Overall a great read that I definitely recommend along with the earlier books in the series (and really-any MM/MMM by this author of course)!

Archer has managed Downward Spiral for ten years. Watching them become famous and then watching them spiral down. The guilt he feels for failing to see how bad it actually was makes him want to find a way to help Jude. The baddest of the bad boys. A bratty rocker with a drug problem, a Dom who has to be in control, and the man who loves them both, makes for a steamy triangle. Another excellent book in the Replay series. The author always brings a vibrancy to her characters and this one is no exception. The Downward Spiral boys rock. I received an arc of this book.

I have been dying waiting for this book!!! The tiny hint of it in the previous book drove me crazy and I couldn't wait! Poor Jude and his tortured soul screamed he needed help and the fact that it takes two very strong men who are so drastically different! Just the dynamic that these three men have is scorching but in the quiet moments it warms the heart. Jude is spark but it takes Archer and Bennett to keep the fire going for these three. Watching them find and accept the balance needed to make them work is hard but so worth the wait and I just loved this from page one. The best MMM Kyleen has written IMO. I can't wait to see what else she has in store for the entire band but this is by far my favorite of this series so far.

Marie's Tempting Reads ARC Review: Triple the pleasure, triple the delight and triple the action! Beat Of Their Own Drum is just plain ol' YUMMY! The characters are so memorable and the story has a great mix of sexiness, wit, and heart. Every book Miss Neuhold writes gets better and more pleasing. And these Replay stories hit me as extra special. These guys captured my heart right from the very first book and I seem to crave more. You can't go wrong with a Replay book and that is the truth! Beat of Their Own Drum is book 3 in the Replay series. It can be read as a standalone. I haven't read any of the other books in the series but this one made me want to check out the other books. Beat of Their Own Drum is the third in the Replay series by KM Neuhold following the guys in the band Downward Spiral. I love how each of the books in the series run on the same timeline and you could potentially read them in any order and still understand what it going on. Each book has intersecting characters and timelines but focuses on a new set of MCs. This story follows Jude (the notorious sex, drugs, and rock & roll drummer), Archer (the band’s manager), and Bennett (the Dom and celebrity handler). Archer and Bennett were lovers in college but couldn’t make it work long term because of Daddy / Dom tendencies. When Archer decides to put the band on vacation so they can all have time away from each other and to get back to themselves, he knows he needs to get Jude help. Bennett is the best in the industry and even with their history, Archer knows Jude needs Bennett – but he doesn’t realize how much they all need each other. I loved the dynamics between Jude, Archer, and Bennett. Both Bennett and Archer are needed to handle Jude at his brattiest, but they also need each other to bounce ideas off of and talk things out with. I also really liked the check in calls that each of the band members make to Archer, and vice versa, as it takes you back to those moments in the previous books and gives you a new perspective. I cannot wait for the next book in the series to find out what happens with the band and who Benji ends up with!

I give the third book in the Replay series 3.5 out of 5 stars. Things I loved: - bad boy drummer Jude - stressed to the max manager Archer - unresolved mutual attraction - different characters' perspectives of the same scenes from the previous two books - Chuck Palahniuk reference - the hot, hot sexy times Things I didn't care for: - fairly stoic, kinda arrogant former military Bennett - the seemingly easy and quick drug rehab - the weird dynamic between Bennett and Archer I'm guessing Benji's book is next. Amazingly written story K.M. has done it again. This book has got great characters and an even better story. I fell in love with Jude in the first book and knew he would have an amazing story. I was not disappointed. Jude is a disaster until Bennet walks into his life and takes control. Then Archer and Bennett are able to find their way back to each other thanks to the dynamical relationship between the three of them. They each give each other what they were lacking before. This was good! I liked this story,it was an easy steamy read that I finished last night in one sitting. I enjoyed the kink dynamics the author incorporated between the MCs, they really worked...Light-D/S...Daddy Kink (NO age play) and some Domestic Discipline yes please! I will say that there was a little bit of insta-submissive/love in this which I didn't mind at all...but may bother people that want/need everything to be realistic. I love this series, but I didn’t love this book as much as the other two. Jude is a drummer but he isn’t drumming at all! I know a few drummers and they are drumming every chance they get! The MMM was well done, but I missed the emotional connection between Bennet and Archer. I thought their love (and their history) would be more epic. I love Daddy kink and I don’t mind BDSM, but I don’t like it when a contract comes on the table before the attraction/feelings.
