Four pretty hot romantic suspense stories, with varying degrees of heat, but all featuring alpha protectors... Hannah's Luck by Lora Leigh is an offshoot of the book Wild Card and features 37-year-old widower Sheriff Rick Grayson. In "Wild Card", his faithless wife Sienna was involved with the Black Collar Militia--a white supremicist group that targeted Mexican illegal aliens. Rick feels all kinds of guilt that she played him and used info from his office to keep her group and its activities alive. Rick's madly attracted to pretty 30-year-old divorced kindergarten teacher Hannah Brookes (who has no luck with men), but is wary about his feelings for her because of his wife's betrayal. He can't risk another relationship to go wrong, because he has a young son to think of. But Hannah needs him--someone has broken into her house, and it may have something to do with him and their relationship. Perhaps all the members of the militia haven't been accounted for? Can Rick keep Hannah safe without letting his feelings get involved? Hot little story, without the usual LL arguing between the H/h. Just some initial reluctance from the hero to get involved in a relationship beyond sex. Rick and Hannah were a likable couple, and they had some wonderful, hot chemistry. There was some suspense too as someone was determined to stop the relationship between Hannah and Rick. Maybe I wasn't paying attention too closely (or I make a lousy detective), but the identity of the culprit surprised me. The only thing wrong with this story was that it ended too soon, and wrapped up rather ubruptly. 4 1/2 stars Reckless and Yours by Red Garnier is a passionate story between a handsome, 25-year-old Phoenix police detective, and his long lost teenage love who has been suffering from amnesia since her father (a judge) was brutally murdered 7 years ago. Will she remember the love they once shared? Will he be able to protect her from the person who murdered her father and now wants to see her die too? I loved this hot little RS. I thought it would work very well as a full length novel, but it worked in this short story format too. I loved the characters of Paige and Zachary--they generated a lot of heat and longing, and I enjoyed their flashback scenes. Nice work by the author. 4 1/2 stars Tempt Me by Alexis Grant is an African-American romance featuring a Whitney Houston-in 'The Bodyguard'-like rapper/R&B singer (Anita Brown) with an undeserved reputation as a "Queen B". She's got a leech-like family supposedly working security for her while taking advantage of her generosity, and a record company exec ex who she can't trust. She about to embark on a USO tour of the mid-East and hires a new security company for protection, since she's also being stalked. Zachary Mitchell is the Delta Force soldier who's moonlighting for his ailing best buddy's security company and will be Anita's personal bodygurad. Zach's an honorable, good guy and sparks fly between him and Anita, even though they're worlds apart in social status. But Anita likes that Zach is an honorable gentleman who she can trust and talk to, and she's drawn to him. Will Zach be able to fight his feelings for the beautiful Anita, and keep their relationship all business? Very interesting story, with some fine writing, a very likable hero, and some nice sexual tension. But this story had the worst, most abrupt ending that I've ever read. In fact, when I turned the last page I was stunned, and yelled out "That's it?" This book was crying out for an epilogue in the worst way, and for that I have to knock it down at least a half star. 3 1/2 stars Love Me 'Til Death by Lorie O'Clare features feisty detective Ashley and not-by-the-book, sexy, FBI agent Chase working on a case to find out who's poisoning young women with a date rape drug. Does the prime suspect have some connection to Ashley? Will Ashley and Chase's combustible chemistry get in the way of solving the case? This was a hot one, and it could easily have been developed into a full sized novel as well. I would have loved to read a little more background info about the characters of Ashley and Chase, because they had some smokin' hot chemistry. 4 stars Four hot short stories, featuring 4 hot alphas and 4 feisty heroines, makes for 4 mostly satisfying reads. 4 stars

4 stars – Romantic Suspense/Anthology Hannah’s Luck is a pretty typical, formulaic story by Lora Leigh...with a cold, gruff, horny alpha cop frustrated by his rampant lust for a sweet kindergarten teacher, so he treats her like crap and pushes her away. But then of course, when burglars break in and vandalize her home, he comes charging to the rescue and after one explosive kiss demands her total submission. This is a verrry hot, borderline erotic, story, which I love, but the hero was a jerk and I felt like I’d read it before. 3 ½-4 stars. Reckless and Yours by Red Garnier is a sweet, smokin’ hot reunited lovers story about a detective trying to solve a case involving an amnesia victim, who happens to be his long lost teenage, true love. This outstanding quick read was the best of the bunch and made the entire anthology worth reading, IMO. I loved it, and I’ll definitely read more by this author! 5 stars! Tempt Me by Alexis Grant is a “Bodyguard” type drama about a misjudged R&B diva with family and stalker problems who hires a professional bodyguard to accompany her on tour, who just so happens to be an honorable Delta Force operative on leave. I really liked the hero in this story, and although it started out a bit shaky and slow, I ended up liking it midway through. But then the ending was so unbelievably, frustratingly abrupt, that I actually thought it must be a printing/publishing mistake, so my rating is definitely lower for the unsatisfying, bad ending. 3 stars. Love Me ‘Til Death by Lorie O’Clare is a hot story about a sexy, hardened, dominating FBI agent and a feisty, temperamental homicide detective who clash (and burn up the sheets) while investigating a series of deaths involving a dangerous date rape drug. The author’s writing style reminded me a lot of Lora Leigh and sparked my interest in reading her FBI Sex Crimes series. 4 stars. Overall, it’s an entertaining read, especially for those who love yummy, hot alpha cop/military heroes and romantic suspense that’s on the steamy side. 4 stars.

Favorite Quote: Included in the final story below. Hannah’s Luck by Lora Leigh Two years ago, Rick Greyson’s wife was murdered, but he didn’t shed any tears. His wife was mixed up in a terrorist drug group and Rick is just thankful his son made it out alive. He has kept to himself since, concentrating on his son and his job as sheriff. He has always had an eye on Hanna Brookes, even when he was married. Hannah is a Kindergarten teacher living by herself and remembers fondly the two dates she went on with Rick in the previous year, even though they amounted to nothing. Hannah needs Rick’s help now that someone tried to break into her house. When he goes out to see if he can offer advice to keep her safe, their feelings come to the forefront. When another attack occurs, he realizes he will do anything to keep her safe. Hannah’s Luck is a romantic suspense that is heavy on the sex. Rick is a very brooding, quiet hero who is ticked off at the world that he wasted years with his traitorous ex-wife. He likes Hannah but is afraid to get close again. Hannah wants Rick’s booty – and she gets plenty of it in this short story. The sex scenes are completely over the top and the ending ruined the story for me. The last scene where we discover the evil perpetrator and how it wraps up felt extremely rushed and a bit silly. They are in a bathroom, with gun fire and Elite Ops guys literally coming through the window and they look at each other and start laughing and say I love you. Wait, what? I understand it is a short story, but really, a few more pages would have been very beneficial. Rating: 2.5/5 Reckless by Red Garnier Paige Avery witnessed her father murdered as a young adult and for the past seven years has lost all memory of her youth.  Zach River is in love with Paige – he has been since their high school years. He hasn’t seen her in the last seven years, until now. She has come back to pack up her mothers house after her death. Zach is called out to the house after an attempted burglary. For Zach seeing Paige brings forth such intense emotions he can barely control himself. For Paige, she sees a handsome detective, but has no other recognition. Zach is determined to find Paige’s killer and Paige will soon learn that love can not stay forgotten. Although you have to suspend disbelief a little bit with the premise of Tempt Me , I enjoyed this story. Red Garnier works in a lot of back-story, details, and sexual tension in a short amount of space. Zach walks around almost exploding from needing to be with and inside Paige and the sexual tension is built up great in this story. It was a little hard to believe after seven years of no memory, one hypnosis sessions brings forth her memories, but I enjoyed the way this story is written. It is different and a nice romantic suspense. Rating: 3.5/5 Tempt Me by Alexis Grant Anita Brown is a superstar R&B singer and needs a bodyguard now that she is having problems with a stalker. She is tired of her useless brothers spending all her hard earned money and falling down on the job. She decides to hire an outside firm to handle things, and this is where Zach Mitchell comes into play. Zach is part of the Delta Force military, on a six-week break. He owes his comrade Lowell Johnson a lot, having survived an assault in combat because of him. Lowell has started his own private security business but has come down with the flu, so Zach steps in to be Anita’s bodyguard. Zach soon learns Anita is very down to earth and a attraction between the two starts to develop. Tempt Me is a story that didn’t quite have the suspense as the other stories in this anthology nor the revved up sex scenes, but delivered a decent story none the less. I believe Alexis Grant is coming out with a new series about the Men of Delta Force. Although this story focuses more on Anita and her singing career than anything related to Delta Force. This one has an ending confused me, but overall I enjoyed the chemistry between Zach and Anita. Rating: 3/5 Love Me ‘Til Death by Lorie  O’Clare FBI agent Chase Reed bullies his way into police officer Ashley Jones homicide case. He notices the bracelet on the murdered woman at the crime scene matches the bracelet worn by two other recent victims. Ashley doesn’t want help on the case, but she doesn’t have any leads and Chase is persistent. They decide to meet later that night so the information is off record. While they evaluate the case, their intense attraction leads them down another path. I really enjoyed this story by Alexis Grant. Chase is a self proclaimed asshole and an agent that never follows the rules. He is very intense, and in control at all times. He wants Ashley from the moment he sees her and wastes no time in making an advance. Ashley is a bit more serious about her job and wants nothing more than to solve these murders, but no girl can resist what Chase is putting out. The chemistry and romance are very hot. After their first kiss when Chase promises to leave for the night: “Goddamn sweetheart,” he growled into her mouth, “I sure hope you have sweet dreams.” There is lots of growly action and I was surprised by Ashley’s attitude in the bedroom too. A really sexy story, this is definitely my favorite of the book. I will definitely be checking out more from Lori O’Claire Rating: 4/5 Men of Danger offers four romantic suspense stories that will give you plenty of smexy action. Although each story was not a hit, I recommend reading for Red Garnier and Lorie O’Clare.

Who else in the BCM is out for revenge? Events forced these two to act upon their attraction and it was very hot. 4 Stars 2. Reckless and Yours by Red Garnier was a rekindled young love, but with the added twist of amnesia. Now police detective Zach River (AKA Stalker) was in love with the judges daughter, Paige Avery, that sentenced his father to prison. They were discouraged in high school from following their attraction and when Paige is in a car accident that killed her father she looses her memory. Her mother takes advantage of that and whisks her away. Seven years later, mother deceased, Paige returns to her hometown to sell the family home and, hopefully, get some answers to the blank spots in her memory and to the dreams of the man that haunts her. Zach was teased by fellow co-workers as they all seemed to know he was still in love with Paige. Zach went out of his way to install himself back in Paige's life when she became a target. 4 Stars 3. Tempt Me by Alexis Grant I couldn't get into this story, but I tried. It felt like "The Bodyguard" in the Whitney Houston movie, but wouldn't move along fast enough to keep my interest. Anita Brown lectured her brother in the beginning for too long about how her family had been abusing her success and her--almost--itemized listing of what and how much she spent on the family had me rolling my eyes. Seemed to me, for a short story, this needed to move faster and a lot of the excess gab could have been summed up better and moved the plot along. I grew frustrated with the "Diva" personality and passed on the rest of this story. Didn't finish. 4. Love Me "Til Death by Lorie O' Clare turned me right off when FBI Detective Chase Reed was at the scene of a murder and Homicide Detective Ashley Jones couldn't get along. They didn't want to trust each other or share information. (eyes rolling) When Ashely came home and found her ex-husband waiting for her...the whole pull into the garage to park or not was dumb. She's a detective. If she can't figure out how to get rid of her ex-husband, then shame on her. Didn't finish

Four story anthology of moderately erotic romantic suspense stories, more about romance than suspense. Which should be a given because the stories are all 80-100 pages. But it has a greater connection to her "Tempting SEALs/Elite Ops" series. This novella has a pretty direct connection to Wild Card (Elite Ops #1). It's kind of a post-script on that story featuring a secondary character and what happened to him after "Wild Card". I think you can read this as a standalone...it's pretty self-sufficient, but for those reading the LL series, I would recommend reading this novella after reading Wild Card. I read WC over a year ago and kept trying to remember what happened and how it tied into this novella. Summary: Sheriff Rick Grayson is still trying to get over the betrayal of his ex-wife several years earlier. He's wary of getting involved again, and worried that there are lasting repercussions to his wife's actions that could affect a new relationship. But he's drawn to schoolteacher Hannah Brookes. When her home is burglarized and her life in danger, the two are forced to confront the chemistry between them. Review: A pretty good erotic romance short story, and pretty much what you'd expect to get from Lora Leigh. The hero is a brooding, emotionally battered guy. The heroine a spunky girl with a sensual side. He pushes her away numerous times until he just can't anymore. Kinda typical and unoriginal, but I liked the characters and the romance was steamy. I would have liked a little more solid ending, romantically, but oh well. I did find the tie in with the Elite Ops book "Wild Card" a bit frustrating. I read that one over a year and a half ago and the details were pretty fuzzy. So all the references and tie ins mentioned in this book had me distracted trying to remember what happened in WC. I wish I'd read the two closer together...which is only possible if you're just getting into this series since they were release about 2 years apart. Rating: 4 / 5 stars Reckless and Yours by Red Garnier Summary: Years ago, Zach Rivers and Paige Avery shared a wrong-side-of-the-tracks teenage romance. The two were deeply in love when tragedy struck - Paige's father was murdered and Paige seriously injured, left with severe memory loss. Paige's mother took her away from Phoenix and Zach was left missing and wanting her. Now Zach is a detective, always hoping to solve the murder of Paige's father, and always hoping she'd return. When she does, her home is immediately burglarized and Zach is determined to protect her from whoever wants to harm her...even though Paige still does not remember him. Zach leaves Paige feeling loved and protected and she pins her hopes on reclaiming her life on him. Review: I adored this story! Short stories of the romance variety often tend to feel incomplete and I've rarely read one that I just loved, but this was definitely one. The story is powerfully romantic and sensual. From the first moment I was sucked into these characters and the feelings between them. Author Red Garnier did a wonderful job conveying the emotions and romance between Zach and Paige. The story is only about 90 pages, but Garnier managed to fit a solid romance and storyline into it without leaving and serious holes. I just loved everything about this story. My only complaint is that I wished this story had been longer, a full-length book. It was fabulous as it was, but I think it would have made an absolutely fantastic full-length erotic romantic suspense. Rating: 5 / 5 stars Tempt Me by Alexis Grant Summary: Anita Brown is an R&B singer with a bad reputation after letting others convince her to take her career in a dumb direction. Now she is finally getting herself back to where she wants to be, and getting rid of baggage that is sucking her dry. She's also dealing with a stalker sending her threats. So she hires new security and is presented with Delta Force agent Zachary Mitchell. Neither one is looking for a relationship, but they can't seem to resist each other. Review: Of the four novellas in this book, this is the one I liked least. Actually, I really didn't like it at all. It was rather dull and unoriginal and I didn't feel the romance all that much. The storyline is very reminiscent of the movie "The Bodyguard." Music diva falls for bodyguard. There wasn't anything special about it to set it apart from the typical bodyguard plot. And the way it was written just did not draw me in. The other novellas in this book came across very romantic, but this one just did not, at least for me. Every page seemed to drag on and on, focusing on everything but the romance. A lot of wordy narrative that did nothing to further the story. I just kept thinking 'get on it with, already!' But the very worst was the ending. I've read a lot of romance books with sketchy endings, but this was by far one of the worst. Nothing about the end of this novella worked. For one, the resolution of the mini-suspense plot was confusing as hell, rushed, and didn't really seem to wrap everything up. I felt like things were left undone. And the romantic finish was even worse. In a romance, the H/H should almost always have the last scene in the book...in this one, they weren't the focus of the last scene, 2nd to last, or even 3rd to last. You have to go back to the 5th to last scene to find them together. That alone leaves for an unromantic ending. But even then, there's no romantic resolution. You get no feeling of where these two are going, if they'll stay together, what they want, etc. Which all put together left the ending feeling very incomplete. Honestly, when I finished, I turned the page and thought 'where's the last chapter?' I really wondered if maybe the editors screwed up and left out a chapter. That's how bad it was. It was a really lousy ending to a story that was already subpar. Rating: 1 / 5 stars Love Me 'Til Death by Lorie O'Clare Summary: When detective Ashley Jones responds to a homicide at a club, she encounters on-leave FBI agent Chase Reed examining the dead body. As annoyed as she is, she's drawn to the macho Alpha male. And intrigued by the clue he picks up on about the case that everyone else missed. She reluctantly accepts Chase's help to find out who is poisoning young women, and tries her hardest to resist him. But as she comes to realize, resisting him isn't what she really wants. Review: I was very, very wary of this novella. I've only read one other book by Lorie O'Clare and I consider it one of the worst books I've ever read in the romance genre. I've avoided other books of her like the plague ever since. But I figured I'd give this novella try since I read the others. And really, it wasn't that bad of a story. I didn't love it, didn't hate it. It was average. I think it's safe to say, though, after my second experience with O'Clare, that her heroes aren't really for me. Chase's behavior toward Ashley annoyed me. He's one of those Super Alpha's who likes to strong-arm things...like Ashley. His behavior is brutish at times. Grabbing and pushing and forcing and ordering. Ugh. It's a total turn-off. I don't know why Ashley put up with it. I would have told him to back the fuck off. Chase wasn't as bad in this book as the hero in the other book of hers I read, but it still didn't appeal to me. The suspense plot was decent...a lot more solid than the other book I read. It was interesting, even if the bad guy's identity was totally obvious and I thought the H/H should have figured it out sooner. So all in all it was an average story. But it did pretty much cement my feeling that O'Clare's not really an author I feel a need to read again. Rating: 3 / 5 stars In the end, this book of novellas had its high points ("Hannah's Luck" and "Reckless and Yours"), its midpoint ("Love Me 'Til Death") and its low point ("Tempt Me"). The high points more than made up for the low point. Red Garnier's story alone made this book worth buying. Overall Rating: 4 / 5 stars

This was OK. I got it primarily for the Lora Leigh book. She obviously didn't keep track of what she had written in this story. On page Hannah, the main character, says she's 30. She's a kindergarden teacher. On one page Hannah says she had had all 3 of Mae's kids in her class. Then on another page Mae only had 1 kid and he had died in Irag several years ago. If her kid was 18 when he died, lets say 5 yrs ago, that would mean Hannah would have to have been a Kingergarden teacher at age 12. Error This was OK. I got it primarily for the Lora Leigh book. This was a typical LL book, with a rather solid plot and loads of steam, but I simply wasn’t convinced. There was something missing, but I just can’t put my finger on it. Maybe it was too short, maybe it needed more of a back-story…I don’t know. All I know is that I liked it, but it was nothing overly special. It’s tied in slightly to her Elite Ops series, though, giving me even more of an incentive to read the series. (3 stars) In Red Garnier's Reckless seven years ago eighteen-years old Paige Avery and Zach Rivers were a Romeo-and-Juliet-esque item, she a judge's daughter, him a felon's son. Then her father was murdered, Paige almost met her Maker along him, and lost her memory in the process...Now she's back, someone wants her dead and Zack will do anything to keep her safe...And help her remember. This was a cute, short, slightly bitter sweet story of love lost and found again, and second chances. I missed more development on the suspense subplot - it just seemed to be placed there conveniently, but nothing more, but the (renewed) romance between Zack and Paige stole the show. The only peeve is the somewhat juvenile interaction between them (mostly in the dialog). Sure, they haven't seen each other in seven years, and she's learning about their past again, but still, they're twenty-five, not ten. (3 stars) In Alexis Grant's Tempt Me a Delta Force operative on leave does a friend a favor by protecting an R'n'B diva from a stalker. But Anita Brown isn't what the tabloids (and her fame-blinded family) have branded her and Zachary Mitchell finds himself fallin' for this feisty singer. This was the weakest in the bunch for me. Not due to lack of chemistry between the two leads, far from it, but due to lack of actual story beside the sexual pull between Zachary and Anita. The suspense was beyond weak and the finale had a strong deus ex machina feel. Not to mention the abrupt ending. I hate it when that happens. (2 stars) In Lorie O'Claire's Love Me 'til Death a police detective finds herself working off the record with an FBI agent on leave as they try to discover who's murdering young women with a hard-to-find street drug, and giving them string bracelets as mementos of their time together. This little number was the best in this anthology, if you ask me. I loved the suspense (nothing beats a good murder mystery), and I loved Chase and Ashley. Their banter was sexy, the way they kept jumping from "let's have sex" to "let's solve a murder" to "let's have sex" again was sexy...And when they finally did it it was HOT. The only thing bothering me about this was the fact I knew who the killer was almost from the get go, and the shortness of the story. I wouldn't mind a full-length novel to explore more of Chase and Ash's background and of course the depth of the killer's motive. (4 ½ stars)

I read 3 of the 4 stories in this book. I really liked the Lora Leigh story. To bad...so sad....

My favorite story in this book (and the reason I read this) was Hannah's Luck by Lora Leigh, which was pretty good, Restless and Yours was not bad, the other 2 I didn't really care for.

I personally like romance without all the graphic sex. If you like sex scenes, this book may be for you. The third story was actually an interesting read.

This book just really dragged along for me. Which is really unusual for a book of short stories. It's not good when a short story seems way too long. Thought it was boring.

I bought this book for the Elite Ops novella but stayed for the quick and dirty reads the anthology provided. Hannah and Rick's story is a too-brief look into the life of Sheriff Grayson from the book Wild Card. A really great story that I wished could go on because I love epilogues. The other story I loved in this book was about Zach and Paige. A really great character introduction that had me wanting more! The other two stories are good but I liked these two more. Rick has been attracted to Hannah for years - even when married (stayed married for his son & because his wife would not divorce him)... his son reported that he had overheard his wife threatening Hannah over the phone, and when he tried dating hannah last year, he was uncomfortable as his feelings were so strong, and someone started harrassing Hannah... but now, someone has broken into Hannah's house - and Rick can't stay away from her this time... ahhhh Reckless / Red Garnier In High School working class Zach had a terrible crush on high class Paige - transferring to her school in their senior year... and he spent a year courting her behind everyone's back, every Friday she would go to his apartment over the beach boardwalk where he worked - and he spent a year seducing her - first with kisses, then touches,... always careful of her... but then her father the judge is killed, and Paige comes out her coma having forgotten everything... and her mother takes her to live elsewhere... 7 years later, mom is dead, Paige returns to face her past and sell the house... and someone breaks in - Rick takes her to his home, and there is attraction - and she feels safe, and has glimpses of some of her past with him... and he talks her into hypnosis with the police lieutenant's psychologist's wife - and her memory returns - 1st her memories around Rick - and then that the lieutenant is the one who killed her father & threatened her... and the lieutenant tries to kill her and Rick and set it up that Rick is guilty... but... she had texted Rick's deputy for help, and saved in a nick of time... This was a great book. I would rate it a 4 1/2 stars but that's not on the scale so I'll move it up to a 5 stars. I would recommend this book if you like action, sex, suspense, sex, mystery, and more sex. It contained four stories in all. First story "Hannah's Luck" by Lora Leigh was excellent! A 5 star story, it's #4.5 in the Elite Ops series. It was emotionally and sexually charged from the beginning. Leigh did a great job in playing the story out in about 83 pages and wrapping it up nicely. I This was a great book. It was emotionally and sexually charged from the beginning. Leigh did a great job in playing the story out in about 83 pages and wrapping it up nicely. I wished there was more only because the story was so great. She kept the suspense and mystery going up until the very end and the climax was quite surprising. Hannah and Rick's characters played well off of each other and their sex scenes were oh so great. I really enjoy Lora Leigh and she did not disappoint. The second story is "Reckless And Yours" by Red Garnier. I had never read anything by Garnier before, I was quite impressed! Another 5 star story. This one was also about 80 pages and Garnier wrapped it up nicely, I felt satisfied which isn't always the case with a novella. It was such a sweet story with Zach and Paige. Zach waiting 7 years for Paige to return to Arizona knowing she has amnesia, but just hoping she will remember they were high school sweethearts before her tragedy tore them apart, only to find out she still has no recollection of anything before her father's murder, including him. Zach is patient with her and when her home is burglarized upon her return, it's Officer Zach to the rescue and then the sparks fly! I will be on the lookout for more books by Garnier, the way this author handled not only the sex scenes but also the suspense and mystery aspect of the story was superb. The third story"Tempt Me"by Alexis Grant, took some getting into. I would rate it 31/2-4stars. The sex scenes were okay.It seemed like in the beginning of the story the author took a lot of time setting up the story. It seemed like the whole story spent a lot of time building up for the big bang that never came. Sure we found out who the BAD guy was, but in the ending scene, Anita and Zach weren't even in it together. Their chemistry seemed good, but the sex scenes were mild to nonexistant. I liked the premise of the story, it just didn't deliver. I will still give this author another chance as I feel that maybe a novel may be better or if this story was longer. It just ended so abruptly. The fouth story I just finished,"Love Me 'Til Death" by Lorie O'clare. This was an excellent story I really enjoyed. Definitely a 5 star story. This is the second novella I have read by O'clare, and I haven't been disappointed yet. She did an excellent job on this one. Detective Ashley Jones and Fbi agent Chase Reed have instant chemistry after meeting at a crime scene, she's on duty, he's not. The sex scenes were sizzling in this story! It had a good mystery and an element of suspense with a great climatic scene with the killer. O'Clare and definitely didn't disappoint in this story and I will keep my eye out for more books by this author. The third story was the only story I would say I didn't like to well. It was still pretty good. I would definitely recommend this book to others as the good things about it far outweigh the bad.

It's been too long since I finished this book to leave a decent review. I'm just jotting some notes that might trigger my memory later. I do recall all the stories involving a good bit of steam and a fair bit of mystery. Hannah’s Luck by Lora Leigh Sheriff Rick whose deceased wife Sienna was involved in some sort home-grown terrorist group. Hannah, his son's kindergarten teacher's house in broken into. Her sex toys are put on display. Rick and Hannah tried dating but he didn't seem interested. T It's been too long since I finished this book to leave a decent review. Turns out he really can't control himself when she's near. There was some left field Mexican prejudice and lots of sex. I remember liking the story but thinking that Rick's resistance was silly. Reckless and Yours by Red Garnier Former secret high school sweethearts (Zachary Rivers and Paige Avery) are torn apart when Paige is in a car accident with her father and gets amnesia. Her father, a judge who put Zach father in prison, dies and her mother whisk her away from her on well being. Zach chases her but returns home and becomes a detective. Paige returns after he moms death to sell the family home and again she's in danger, presumably by the same person who killed her father. Zach is as obsessed as ever and intends to never let Paige go again. Sweet! I remember really liking the long lost love story but like "Color My Heart" from http www.goodreads.com book show 6122545redhotsummer starts fantastically but sizzles out and in the end doesn't deliver. Tempt Me by Alexis Grant An R&B artist Anita Brown is attempting a comeback and performing in a USO type tour. Her family members and former boyfriend make up her entourage, including security which has been more interested in bedding women and partying than protecting her from a stalker. Concerned for her safety she hires a security firm run by former Delta Force soldiers (I guess this is from another series?) She falls for the bodyguard sent to protect her, Zach. There is also a bit of underhandedness and action but thing wrapped up extremely quickly, so quickly that I had to check and make sure that it was really the end. I didn't really enjoy reading the dialogue (unrelatable) so it was a bit disappointing. Love Me ‘Til Death by Lorie O’Clare Detective Ashley Jones and off duty FBI agent Chase Reed meet at a crime scene where Chase shouldn't be. It's a 3rd victim who has been drugged and murdered. Chase notices a bracelet on the murdered woman that matches a bracelet worn by two other recent victims. He helps Ashley put together evidence and take the credit even though Ashley doesn't want him around. I recall this being a decent story but I felt like I knew 'whodunit' too soon and it was to coincidental.

Wow. I'm really glad I didn't buy this book, it was one I happened to pick up at the library. The stories are short. Like, real short. Four in this book. Which means the authors were not only cramped in their style, they really had to work fast and it didn't make for good reading. I ended up skimming most of the stories. I'm not going to count any of these authors out by I'm also not going to look for them on purpose. "Hannah's Luck" by Lora Leigh-Kindergarten teacher Hannah Brookes is living a s Wow. I'm not going to count any of these authors out by I'm also not going to look for them on purpose. "Hannah's Luck" by Lora Leigh-Kindergarten teacher Hannah Brookes is living a simple life. She's been attracted to the sheriff, Rick Grayson, for a long time now but he was burned by his wife (she was feeding information to a home-grown terrorist group as well as sleeping around on him and doing cocaine.) Now, it seems that Hannah's being targeted by the militia group and Rick is there to make sure that she stays safe. For a short story, there were some inconsistencies including one character was described as having three children then later as having one. Probably would give this one 2 out of five. "Reckless" by Red Garnier-Paige Avery was in a horrible accident that stole her memory. Her mother immediately whisked her away from Phoenix, but now she's back to try and sell their house as well as discovery her missing past. Zach Rivers was part of that past and he intends to help her solve her past. He's also been obsessed with her ever since and wants to work his way back into her life. 2 out of 5. "Tempt Me" by Alexis Grant-I've not read any Grant stories before so I don't know if she writes like this always but some of the "thug" talk really threw me off. Anita Brown has finally chucked her family out of her life. She's an R&B star whom they've been sponging off of for years and she's sick of it. Since they were providing her security detail, she now needs some new bodyguards. Zachary Mitchell is on leave and offers to fill in for his buddy. It's like the Bodyguard. Definitely would have been good as a full-length or at least a Harlequin Presents. We don't get much of an ending. 3 out of 5 "Love Me 'Til Death" by Lorie O'Claire-Like the last one, I wish this one could have been fleshed out more because I think I probably would have enjoyed it quite a bit. Ashley Jones is a homicicde detective whose scene has just been invaded by special agent Chase Reed. Why does he get involved? Because he's there. No other connection that I recall. They fall in lust, he tries to horn in on the investigation even though they're not even in his jurisdiction. Didn't like how this story was put together but it was okay. 2 out of 5.

Reckless and Yours by Red Garnier When Paige Avery walks into a room, heads turn. Zach Rivers is not immune to Paige’s beauty. In fact he wants her for himself. Zach did have her at one point a long time ago. Can he win her back? Tempt Me by Alexis Grant Anita Brown is an R&B singer. Just like any famous celebrity come the stalkers. Zachary Mitchell has agreed to do a favor for his good friend, Lowell. Lowell runs a security business. Zach now finds himself playing bodyguard to Anita. Will Zach and Anita become the next Whitney Houston and Kevin Costner? Love Me Til Death by Lorie O’Clare Ashley Jones is a homicide detective. Her current murder case involves a dead girl. It appears as though there is a connection with another case. One that the FBI are working on. Special Agent Chase Reed has teamed up with Ashley. Chase can’t help but admire Ashley. Unfortunately the admiration seems to be one sided. Ashley can’t stand the thought of the FBI honing in on her case. Can Ashley learn to play nice before the killer strikes again? Men of Danger is like ordering a sampler. You get to try out a little bit of everything from sexy sheriffs to special agents. I enjoyed reading these stories. Both Alexis Grant and Lorie O’Clare are new to me authors. After reading what they had to offer, I plan to check out both ladies full length novels. Often times with anthologies, the stories can seem rushed. This was not the case with this anthology. There was plenty of action and romance. In fact, I kind of didn’t want the stories to end. I didn’t really have a favorite as I liked all four stories. Men of Danger should come with a warning…”Extreme Heat Ahead”.

Hannah's Luck Lora Leigh This story was a pleasant surprise and welcomed treat. I didn't think that we would get to see Rick Grayson get a HEA after the betrayal of his wife in Wild Card. I guess the story wasn't quite finished though. I like the character of Rick Grayson. He is a private,, honorable, and compassionate man. He was faithful to his wife and he loves his son. I would have like to know why Sienna married Rick it was obvious that she didn't love him or their son. She knows Rick could be the one man in the world to give her what she needs and wants but how do you get his attention. It takes some breaking into her house to get the ball rolling and when it does these two burn up the pages. Hannah is tougher than she looks and she is also compassionate and loving. I guess she would need to be if she is teaching kindergarten. Hannah is another of the female characters that listens when she should and puts her training to use when she has to. The biggest problem with this book is that it is too short. There were questions that were left unanswered. The story seemed rushed like the author had better things to do and need to get this one out of the way. I love the characters and I am glad that they got their story I just think this could have been a great love story with a few more details.

I had a hard time wading though the muddle of all of this side business in the story and gave up before I got to the consummation of the romance (I am assuming that it got consummated with all the lusty imagining the H&H were indulging in.) I liked Lora Leigh's story of sherrif Rick, who was apparently a side character in Wild Card - Leigh's full length novels are a bit much for me but she writes a mean short stories and this one was nice and steamy. I also really liked the one by Red Garnier. I like the theme of the pair of teen almost-lovers separated by tragedy and brought back together after many years - the reunion and the desparate longing of the hero finally being fulfilled was so intense. The final story by O'clare was pretty good, but somehow I missed the transition from the pair being strangers to the hero's relentless seduction. Bottom line - 2 I really liked it's, 1 I didn't liked and 1 pretty good so the book comes out just shy of I really liked it - hence the 3 stars instead of the 4

This was an ok anthology. A little hit or miss. It felt like parts of the story were missing for some of them. Lora Leigh did her usual. I'm not familiar with the characters so I may not have read the books they previously appeared in. Of all the suspenseful elements, hers was the out of left field one for me. Strange culprit I guess. I think I prefer her Breed stories over any of her other series. Red Garnier was a new author for me but I will check out other books by her. Interesting who done This was an ok anthology. Interesting who done it and kinda sweet lost first love story. Alexis Grant is also a new author for me but the similarities with L. A. Banks style give me hope for this author. Plus it was a pleasant surprise having 2 African American leads in the story. Unfortunately it felt like this story had more to it that was cut out. Hopefully any future stories will be given a chance to be fleshed out more. I've read Lorie O'Clare before so I knew what to expect. I enjoyed the heroine but the guy didn't do anything for me. His issues felt thrown in just as something to do but no real details were given. Overall, I would recommend this book. It's not bad. I enjoyed Red Garnier's story the most, followed by Alexis Grant, Lorie O'Clare and then Lora Leigh.

I loved this anthology from the first novella to the last. Lora Leigh's Elite Ops, once again, phenomenal. The characters had undeniable chemistry and the story was good. Red Garnier’s Reckless and Yours had me near tears the whole way through. The story itself had a great mystery but the real page-turner is the couple. Emotionally gripping beyond reasoning, I just couldn’t put it down. I think this may have been my favorite of the four. Alexis Grant’s Tempt Me, was a great lead in to her Men of Delta Force series. The characters are wonderful, with great backgrounds and interaction. This story clearing introducing people you will later meet in the full series. I was disappointed in the ending though, seemed really rushed and open ended. Love Me ‘Til Death from Lorie O’Clare has peeked my interest in finding some her other titles. Her characters were bold and intriguing. Though I felt things were a little rushed in the initial relationship establishment, I can understand the restraints of a novella. That said, I really enjoyed the story and the writing.
